Poetry Bridges: Visiting Writers Grug Muse: Creative nonfiction and poetry
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Telford Suspension Bridge, English Literature and Creative Writing (School of Arts, Culture and Language) present a series of guest writer events to celebrate poetry as a means of bridging: connecting ideas, places and people.
These are free, public events open to all, supported by the generosity of alumni through the Bangor Fund and by Literature Wales.
Dr Alys Conran will introduce a conversation (in Welsh) about Croesi Cyfandir ar Ddwy Olwyn, poet Grug Muse's first prose volume which follows her 4000 mile bike ride from Cape Cod to Portland, Oregon, an 80 day solo journey.
This will be followed at 6.30 by the launch of the Creative Writing MA (English) student anthology in Pontio PL2, where Grug will give a poetry reading with translation.
